Council is deliberating right now, and the decision on Bylaws 2025-32 and 2025-34 could come at any time. Here’s how you can make a difference this week โ whether you have two minutes or two hours.
Five Things You Can Do This Week
1. Email or Call Your Councillor
Your councillor needs to hear from you. A short, respectful message carries real weight. Head over to the Take Action page where we’ve got pre-written emails for every councillor โ just click, add your name, and send. Or pick up the phone and call.
2. Share the Facts
Most people in Wheatland County still don’t know the full story. Share the Facts page with your neighbours, on social media, in community groups. The more people who understand what’s at stake โ 576 acres of farmland, 2,555 trips a day, no end user named โ the stronger our voice.
Use our pre-made social posts to spread the word in seconds.
3. Donate to the Campaign
We’re raising $75,000 to fund independent hydrogeology, noise, traffic, and legal expertise. The developer has professional consultants and lawyers. We need experts who answer to the community, not to Diode. Every dollar counts.
4. Talk to Your Neighbours
The most effective organizing happens face to face. Talk to the people on your road, at the coffee shop, at community events. Let them know what’s being proposed and where to find the facts. Invite them to follow the blog for updates.
5. Stay Informed and Watch for Next Steps
Council still needs to vote on third reading of these bylaws. When that happens, residents may get another chance to speak. Follow the What’s Happening page and subscribe to campaign updates to make sure you don’t miss it.
